Replacing the compressor

As the illustrations in this service information are used for different model years and / or models, some variation may occur. However, the essential information in the illustrations is always correct.

Before starting work on the compressor

Примечание: When replacing a compressor, always replace the O-rings in pipes and quick-release connectors.

Примечание: Always plug the pipes and couplings when working on the climate control system.

Removing compressor

Slacken off two screw clips for the lower charge air hose. Remove the charge air hose.

Disconnect:

• the connector for the magnetic clutch on the compressor
• the two screws for the intake and pressure hose on the compressor. Push the intake and pressure hoses to one side
• the two lower mounting screws on the compressor
• the two upper mounting screws on the compressor.

Remove the engine cooling fan (FC). See Вентилятор охлаждения двигателя, замена. Lift the compressor up between the servo hose and the radiator.

Disconnect the battery negative lead. See Заметьте при отсоединении / подсоединении провода аккумулятора.Drain the refrigerant from the system. See Хладагент, слив.Remove the air intake for the electrical box.Disconnect the auxiliaries belt. See Замена ремня привода вспомогательных агрегатов / натяжного устро йства ремня.

Installing the compressor

If necessary, fill the compressor with oil. See Масло, система кондиционирования, заполнение.Install the compressor. Position the compressor loosely in the lower and upper screws.Tighten the mounting screws alternately. Tighten to 25 Nm.Always use new O-rings lubricated with compressor oil.Connect the hose and pipe connections to the compressor. Tighten to 25 Nm.Install the auxiliaries belt.
