Washing off protective coating

Примечание: Solvents such as thinners, white spirits etc. are not to be used for removing the protective coating.

Begin by making a brief inspection for running or accumulation of the coating at any point. In such cases, washing and rinsing may need to be repeated.

The car should be washed (without washing agent) before the protective coating is removed. Use warm water in winter and cold water in summer.

Washing the car with clean water before applying washing agent has two advantages:

• Removing dirt before applying the washing agent improves contact between the agent and protective coating
• The car's temperature is adjusted to a value suitable for removing the coating (15- 20°C.

Washing agent

Dilute washing agent P/N 11 61 431-0 with water. First pour the correct quantity of water into the mixing vessel and then add the washing agent.At normal temperatures mix 5 parts of water with 1 of washing agent.In cold weather, use water from the hot-water tap. (40-45°C). Mix 4 parts °f Ωarm Ωater Ωith 1 part °f Ωashing agent.If the car has been exposed to strong sunlight for a prolonged period, a mixture consisting of 4 parts of water to 1 part of washing agent should be used.

Equipment:

Low-pressure, garden-type spray.

Washing

Pour the ready-mixed solution into the spray reservoir. Spray the solution over the whole car, repeating the treatment at any point where the protective coating has accumulated or run.

Примечание: To avoid scratching the paintwork, sponges are not to be used.

Примечание: The washing agent must not be allowed to dry on the car.

Repeat the treatment after a couple of minutes (or earlier if the solution begins to dry).Rinse the car after a further 3 minutes or so. Repeat the treatment at any point where the coating has not be removed.When finished, rinse the equipment in clean water.
