Модификации:

• Бампер, подходящий по цвету к кузову, с округлым профилем и декоративной отделкой. Противотуманные лампы установлены на низком уровне по сторонам бампера. Спойлер представляет собой отдельную деталь.
• Фары низкого профиля с раздельными рефлекторами дальнего и ближнего света. Лампы как дальнего, так и ближнего света являются лучшими лампами, устанавливаемыми сейчас на Volvo, потому что, с одной стороны, рефлектор ближнего света имеет сложную конфигурацию многосекторного типа, с другой - потому что лампа накаливания рефлектора ближнего света остается зажженной, когда включен дальний свет. Рефлектор ближнего света включает в себя также лампочку стояночного фонаря.
• Front fenders (wings) with a somewhat rounder shape round the wheel housings.
• Wider blinkers with white lens and orange bulb.
• Lower profile grille.
• Car lowered 7 mm at the front.

Seen from the side the following has been altered:

• A sill moulding has been added
• Wider waistline trims that cover the complete impression along the body side. The trims are color-coordinated and have a narrow bright trim of the same type as on the bumpers.
• Color-coordinated door handles with a rounder external shape.
• Bright trim around side windows on sedan models.
• New wheel designs available in a number of new versions.

Miscellaneous

• The headlight cleaner vent is now integrated in the washer filter.
• All 960s have color-coordinated power door mirrors.
• A number of new exterior body colors have been added.
