Type approval of the tow hitch is in the table on page 2.

- Fold up the rear centre floor hatch (1)
- Remove the two side floor hatches (2).

- Remove the folding side panel on the left and right-hand sides of the cargo compartment.
Applies to cars with two rows of seats
- Turn the knobs on the storage box a quarter turn. Lift the box out.

Applies to cars with accessory electronic modules
- Remove the bracket with the accessory electronic module. If necessary disconnect the connectors.

- Remove the three screws in the battery holder. Lift the battery holder out
- Remove the battery cover
- Lower and remove the spare wheel.

- Raise the car
- Cut/saw out a cut-out in the bumper cover according to the markings on the inside. (See location (1) illustration A and component illustration B)
Примечание: Only cut up to the small marking, not to the horizontal rib. Cut on the inside of rib number 1 and on the inside of rib number 6 so nothing remains between these ribs.
- Even off the edges using a file.

- Remove the rear mounting for the silencer with the bracket from the underneath of the left-hand rear side member by removing the screws (1). Remove the silencer to gain access when installing the tow hitch.

- Remove the front mounting for the rear silencer at the rear sub-frame by removing the screws (1).

- Lower the car
- Fold down the lower tailgate.
From the inside of the cargo compartment:
- Remove the protective flaps covering the mounting holes in the outer sides of the side members
- Insert the spacer sleeves with the screws on the outside of the two side members. Ensure that the screws do not protrude outside the spacer sleeves
- Raise the car again.

From underneath the car
- Remove the protective flaps covering the mounting holes on the inside of the side members
- Carefully bend the heat deflector plate at the side member to one side, to gain more work space
- Take the two mounting pins from the kit
- Lift and position the tow hitch on the inside between the two side members, in between the holes
- While one person holds the tow bar in position, the other presses the mounting pins into the centre hole in the side members so that the member can hang free without falling down
- Carefully lower the car.
From the inside of the cargo compartment:
- Screw in the front and rear screws until they bottom, on both sides of the car. Do not tighten.
Примечание: Do not press out the mounting pins so that the tow bar detaches.
- Insert the centre screw and press out the mounting pins on both sides so that they fall to the floor. Screw in the screws
- Tighten the screws on both sides. Tighten to81 Nm (60 lbf.ft). At the same time hold the tow hitch horizontally
- Raise the car again.
From underneath the car
- Carefully bend the heat deflector plate back into position so that it lies against the silencer.
Подсказка: It is recommended that two people carry out this procedure.
- Reinstall the front mounting for the rear silencer. Tighten the screws. Tighten to24 Nm (18 lbf.ft.)
- Reinstall the rear mounting for the rear silencer. Tighten the screws. Tighten to48 Nm (35 lbf.ft.).
- Install the cable harness connector for the tow hitch according to point 1D in the installation instructions for the appropriate cable harness.
- Install the cable harness for the tow hitch according to point 3 onwards in the Installation Instructions for the appropriate cable harness.
- Reinstall the protective cover and the holder for the battery
- Reinstall the spare wheel.
Applies to cars with two rows of seats
- Reinstall the storage box.
Applies to cars with accessory electronic modules
- Reinstall the bracket with the accessory electronic module. Connect the connectors if disconnected.
Applies to all models
- Reinstall the folding panels
- Reinstall the side floor hatches
- Fold the rear floor hatch back into position.
