Readouts using the Volvo Diagnostic system

General

Information on any faults and other information can be read via the VIDA PC connected to the data link connector. The data link connector is located to the left of the centre console (for righthand drive cars, to the right of the centre console).

Volvo Diagnostics

The VIDA PC enables:

• Read off and erase DTCs.
• Activate components or functions according to certain preset patterns.
• Take continuous readings of the values and status of system input and output signals.
• Read off the control module ID and country code.
• Program/erase keycodes for the remote control.
• Read off and erase the last six sources of alarms.
• Program the alarm in the inactive/active mode.

Before activating Volvo Diagnostics for a remote-controlled central locking system or alarm, the battery voltage must be greater than 11 V.

Reading off and erasing DTCs

Stored diagnostic trouble codes to be read and erased. The diagnostic system can identify 22 different faults in the form of diagnostic trouble codes.You cannot erase any DTCs or sources of alarms until you have read off all DTCs at least once.

Примечание: Erasing the DTCs also erases the sources of the alarms at the same time.

Activating components and functions.

You can use this to activate different system components or functions individually.

The components which can be activated are as follows:

• Locking and unlocking central locking motors
• Deadlocking and unlocking*
• Checking the siren works*
• Checking the horn works*
• Checking the indicator LED works
• Checking the interior lighting works
• Checking the flashers work

*) Only if car is fitted with this equipment.

Sensor / siren test

Ultrasonic or glassbreak sensor controle module and the siren communicate (serial link) with the control module, when the alarm is armed. You can use this function to test if the communication between the control modules and sensor control module is OK or not. You can also check if the sensors detect an intrusion or not.
