Reading off the Volvo on-board diagnostic (OBD) system

General

Information on any faults and other information can be read via the VIDA PC connected to the data link connector.

The VIDA PC enables:

• Read off and erase diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), counters and frozen values
• Activate components/functions according to predetermined patterns.
• Continuously monitor the value and status of input and output signals.
• Read off control module identification.

To activate the Volvo on-board diagnostic (OBD) system:

• Ignition on.
• Battery voltage must be above 11 V.

To activate components/functions:

• Vehicle speed must be 0 km/h
• Gear selector in position P or N.
