Leather steering wheel

• Turn the ignition key to position 0. Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.

Примечание: Wait at least five minutes before disassembling the connectors or removing other electrical equipment.
- Disconnect the battery negative lead.

• Remove the screws (1). Use a Torx screwdriver
• Fold out the steering wheel module (2).

Remove:

• the connector (1) for the horn.

Applies to cars with RTI (road traffic information)

• the connector (2) for the keypad to RTI (road traffic information).

Applies to all models

• the connectors (3) for SRS (supplemental restraint system) by first pressing the catches inwards on the sides. Then pull the connectors straight back.

Примечание: The connectors are tightly secured. However, tools must not be used when removing.
- the steering wheel module. Place the steering wheel module safely with the front side facing upwards
- the screw (4), but leave the steering wheel in place
- the vibration damper (5), if applicable.

Remove:

• the screw (1). Install the screw in the contact reel (2)
• the steering wheel. Pull the wiring out of the hole (3).

• Insert the wiring through the hole in the new steering wheel
• Carefully install the new steering wheel by holding it straight and aligning the locating pins (1) on the contact reel
• Remove the screw from the contact reel. Reinstall the screw in the holder. (See point ru-RU0900c8af8053678b#KC01719413).

• Insert the wiring through the hole in the vibration damper (1) if applicable. Install the vibration damper using the screw in the steering wheel (see point Remove:). Tighten the screw. Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lbf.ft.).

Примечание: Take care with the SRS (supplemental restraint system) wiring.

• Connect the connectors for SRS (supplemental restraint system)
• Connect the other connectors
• Reinstall the steering wheel module on the new steering wheel. Check that no wiring is trapped.

• Tighten the screws in the steering wheel. Tighten to 10 Nm (8 lbf.ft.). Use a Torx screwdriver.

• Turn the ignition key to position II
• Reconnect the battery negative lead.
