Bumper guard, front bumper

• Raise the car
• Remove the screw (1) on the air baffles (2) on the right and left hand sides. Pull them from the centre air baffle.

• Remove the screws (1) from the centre the air baffle (2)
• Remove the centre air baffle (2) by pressing in the catches (3) on the inside. Pull the air baffle backwards.

• Wash any dirt and road debris from the front of the car.

Примечание: Two people are required to secure the bumper guard in the correct position for marking the holes.

• Take hold of the bumper guard as illustrated. Position the top edge of the bumper guard against the lower edge of the three air baffles at the front, to mark out the holes for mounting.

• Slide the protective panel laterally so that the distance (A) is the same on both sides.

• Use your thumbs to press against the upper ends of the bumper guard at (B) so that the bumper guard can be turned at (A). Carefully angle the lower edge of the bumper guard outwards, maintaining the position of the top edges (A), so that the two ends of the studs can be marked.

Примечание: Do not change the lateral or vertical positions of the bumper guard. Incorrect hole markings can result in the bumper guard being installed incorrectly.

• The second person can now mark the ends of the studs using a drop of colour paint or similar
• Carefully bend the lower edge of the bumper guard towards the front so that the studs are positioned at the markings.

• Remove the bumper guard. Drill the two holes according to the markings, through the outer bumper cover and rear most plastic bumper cover. Pre-drill using a Ø3 mm (1/8”) drill bit Then drill out the holes using a Ø8 mm (5/16”) drill bit. Drill at right angles to the surface where the holes are
• Remove any swarf.

• Align the studs for the bumper guard in the drilled holes
• Install two nuts from the kit on the studs.

Примечание: Both layers of the bumper cover may need to be clamped together using a clamp or similar so that the nuts can be installed on the studs.

• Align the bumper guard so that it is straight
• Tighten the nut. Tighten to 3.5 Nm (2.6 lbf. ft)
• Remove the clamp (if used)
• Reinstall all the air baffles.
